LGBT+ NETWORK AT RUC
In @ RUC
Religion has been used as a tool for othering people on many ways, including homophobia, transphobia or queerphobia. In@RUC aims to create a sense of belonging for LGBTQIA+ people connected to RUC. We are launching a network to create a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people who are connected to RUC to share experiences, tell stories, have community and contribute to RUC’s transformation. We will have facilitated virtual gatherings once a month to connect with each other (first Wednesday of the month).
What’s in the name?
The name is chosen to move away from asking people "to come out", but rather to have the power to let others in - into one's joy and who we are. Also to create a sense of belonging, we can fit in and still be unique or different.
Who is it for?
Anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+ or exploring this part of themselves
All ages over 16 years
Connected with RUC, including loved ones of congregants
